Listen to my single "ONE" by U2

Reimagined by AG & MILCK

One Reimagined Performance Video

 ORIGIN

The next song to benefit The Somebody's Beloved Fund is a collaboration with AG (Adrianne Gonzalez), where

we created a reimagined version of “One”. This song is part of AG’s upcoming EP, U2 Reimagined, an EP of

U2 songs completely reimagined by women.

“My dream is for listeners to experience the feeling I get from the original versions of the songs through these re-imaginings. The production is meant to feel as spiritual and transcendent as I feel the originals are, but more minimal to bring focus to the lyrics as presented through the voices of the women of color performing them.” - AG

"While the context of the world has evolved – from the mainstream rise of Black Lives Matter and feminism to the polarization of covid – this song remains timeless in its yearning for unity…I love the lyric ‘One life but we are not the same. We get to carry each other’. " - MILCK

LYRICS

Title: One

Writers: U2

Is it getting better
Or do you feel the same
Will it make it easier on you now
You got someone to blame

You say, one love, one life
When it's one need in the night
One love, we get to share it
Leaves you baby if you don't care for it

Have you come here for forgiveness
Have you come to raise the dead
Have you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head

Well it’s too late tonight
To drag the past out into the light
We’re one but we’re not the same
We get to carry each other carry each other

Screen Shot 2021-09-30 at 1.29.11 PM.png

You say love is a temple, love a higher law
Love is a temple, love the higher law
You ask me to enter but then you make me crawl
And I can't be holdin' on to what you got

When all you got is hurt

One love, one blood

One life, you got to do what you should
One life, with each other
Sisters, brothers

One life but we're not the same
We get to carry each other, carry each other

One life

We get to carry each other

BEHIND THE SCENES

Learning to TRUST is something I am consciously and constantly working to lean further into. When trust is able to grow between two people, a space for our best selves and our best work is created. Thank you AG for living in that space of trust with me.

Here is a BTS clip from our music video shoot for “ONE”.
